Sara Meeks

Speaker Bio:

Sara Meeks, PT, MS, GCS, KYT is a physical therapist with nearly 50 years of clinical experience. A Yoga practitioner since 1977 and certified Kripalu Yoga Teacher since 1984, she has spent the past 25 years focusing her practice and teaching on the unique management challenges of persons with low bone mass.

Sara travels internationally to teach seminars to physical therapists and other health and exercise professionals, and has presented at national and state conferences as well as for private institutions for the past 12 years. She was a featured keynote speaker at the International Private Practitioners Association of the World Confederation of Physiotherapy in Melbourne, Australia in October 2005 and is the recipient of the American Physical Therapy Association’s “Excellence in Clinical Practice” award in 2001. In addition, Sara teaches annually at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, presenting one seminar for the public and one for yoga teachers and health professionals.

Diagnosed with osteoporosis herself, Sara brings unique energy, humor and enthusiasm to her stated mission of increasing safety in movement for individuals with low bone mass.
