Detox, cleanse, purification – these are all terms referring to the revitalizing, life-changing practice of eliminating metabolic waste from the body. When the body cleanses, congested thoughts, emotions and behavioral patterns also begin to emerge and clear up. A properly conducted detox creates safety and support to allow this profound shifting to occur.
Since 1988, Alison Gaines has been guiding individuals and groups through mind-body cleansing retreats. In this workshop, she will discuss the benefits and pitfalls of various detox methods. She will speak about the profound awakening that is possible in a properly conducted cleanse. Alison will include instructions in beginning and ending a detox safely in order to gain lasting benefit and balance. The participants will be guided through a mindful eating experience – an integral aspect to a transformative cleanse. (Participants will have been instructed in advance to bring a healthy snack.) The class will wrap up with a question-and-answer session.
