Chair Yoga can be fun and challenging. Chair Yoga offers an alternative to mat yoga that can be just as challenging. Let’s face it, not everyone feels comfortable sitting on the floor. That alone can make yoga inaccessible to many.
However, many postures that are done sitting on the floor can also be done sitting in a chair, resulting in better alignment, less pain and discomfort. Chair Yoga also uses chairs for standing. Using a chair for standing poses offers increased stability and often results in better alignment for students who have joint and muscle stiffness.
In this two-part workshop we’ll first explore Chair Yoga basics, which will be followed by Chair Yoga flows, including the Sun and Moon salutations. Sign up for one or both. Many of these modifications can be used as a mainstream practice for students who have specific limitations.
