Have you ever wanted to learn to take your meditation practice outdoors into nature? Are you curious about “Mindfulness Meditation” and how you can practice it in a simple, direct and accessible way? Do you want to bring more awareness to your yoga practice and to all aspects of your life? If so, this session is for you.
In this session, participants will learn about the fundamentals of “Mindfulness Meditation” – the simple but radical capacity to be aware and present in all of our experiences with a non-judgmental accepting attention. You will learn how to take this innate quality and ground your attention in the present moment through mindfulness of the breath and mindfulness of body.
Once this is established, it becomes easier to expand this field of awareness as you go into nature – because it is through awareness of our senses that we allow ourselves to receive a deep receptive relationship with the natural world. As a practical application of this practice, participants will learn how to practice listening meditation as a way to bring mindfulness wherever you are, particularly through the beautiful sounds of nature. Mark will play sounds of nature as a means to explore this exercise of listening. Once developed, this quality becomes a profound doorway to a receptive presence that we can take with us in all situations in our lives.
